Marketers are convinced that loyalty is the way to grow their brand, and it’s such a dangerous and mathematically impossible issue, that creating an episode on branded zombies was the only way to penetrate the thick skulls of loyalty obsessed business owners.

Business owners and marketers spend their WHOLE DAYS thinking about their brand and logo and taglines, that they start to think EVERYONE ELSE in the world does too. This myopic approach to marketing creates bland campaigns, presumptuously dull copy, and does nothing to motivate the gaining of market share.

Hopefully marketers realize what a dangerous mistake it is thinking the loyal few will float a brand, while they ignore the vast oceans of category buyers who have never even heard of their brand. The true path towards growth lies in the constant introduction of a brand name in a marketplace. I’ve heard its called “advertising?”

 

Format-wise, I borrowed the narrative framework of a hidden recording as exposition from a 1946 US radio drama, “The House In Cypress Canyon.”
